At Southern Housing, we are committed to creating communities where everyone has a safe home in a place, they are proud to live. We are looking for a Funding Manager to join our Claims & Recovery team and play a key role in supporting our building safety remediation programme.
Reporting to the Head of Claims & Recovery, you will lead the management of government funding streams, including the Cladding Safety Scheme (CSS), ensuring funding is maximised, compliant and aligned with programme delivery.
You will oversee funding applications, claims and reporting, provide leadership to a small specialist team, manage stakeholder relationships and ensure all activity meets Homes England, Building Safety Act and audit requirements.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Manage the full lifecycle of funding applications, claims and reconciliations
- Lead and develop a specialist team
- Ensure compliance with funding criteria, governance and audit requirements
- Monitor funding recovery, risks and programme performance
- Build effective relationships with Homes England and internal stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement in funding processes and reporting
This role is based in our London (Farringdon Station) office and offers hybrid working as agreed with your Line Manager.
What you'll bring:
- Experience managing government funding programmes or grant recovery activities
- Knowledge of the housing, building safety or construction sector
- Understanding of funding compliance, reporting and audit requirements
- Familiarity with the Cladding Safety Scheme and Building Safety Act
- Experience working with complex data and multiple stakeholders
- Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills
- Advanced Excel and systems capability
